Clubhouse for Real Estate Agents

Clubhouse for Real Estate Agents

In March 2020, just as the COVID-19 lockdowns were going into full swing, Clubhouse launched as a brand new and exclusive social media platform. Over the last 11 months, it has grown steadily to about 600,000 users. It jumped to mainline attention recently when Elon Musk joined the app in February simply to discuss recent stock market changes with the CEO of the investment company Robinhood.

While the app is steadily growing in popularity, it’s not quite like other social media apps out there. This platform in particular is great for business people and professionals looking to enhance their careers with knowledge and connections. It has many benefits for real estate agents who want to get ahead in their careers. In this post, I’ll take you through what Clubhouse is, how you can use it, and how it will benefit you as a real estate agent.

So, What Is Clubhouse?

When Jordan Minor, writing for Entrepreneur India, described Clubhouse, he said: “What if Twitter was a podcast you lived inside of?” Basically, Clubhouse is a platform made of multiple “clubhouses,” or rooms, where people can get together and chat, using only audio. There is no video, no writing, no transcripts, no recording. It is also currently only available on Apple products.

Users must have an invite to join Clubhouse, then they set up a quick profile and choose topics or clubs to follow. They can join chats in their favorite areas at any time, either to listen in or participate in the conversation. And people can only participate by raising their “hand,” which means moderators get to choose who talks and when. That can help keep conversations clean and friendly at all times. You can also start your own room as a moderator, and because of the exclusive nature and the excitement of new Clubhouse users, you’re sure to pick up a following quickly.

Because Clubhouse is currently so exclusive, it does offer the opportunity for users to engage with big names like Elon Musk, Kevin Hart, and more. For real estate agents, Clubhouse is a spot to connect. It’s a great place to connect with people in a relaxed atmosphere by using your voice instead of your computer keyboard.

How Can Real Estate Agents Use Clubhouse?

One of the best things about Clubhouse is that it allows real estate agents and other professionals to grow their businesses. There are several ways that you can do that.

1. You Can Get Referrals

According to a 2017 study, 40% of agents reported that at least half of the referrals they received led to a closed sale, while 20% reported that a quarter to a half of the referrals they received led to a closed sale. That data just backs up what we already knew: referrals are essential for good business.

By using Clubhouse, you can get referrals from agents across the country because they get to interact with you in “real-time” without having to meet you in person. They can see what you’re into and hear you talk about important subjects, which will hopefully lead them to a good opinion of you as a person and an agent.

2. You Can Network

Because Clubhouse is literally filled with clubs, you can find all kinds of dedicated professionals like yourself who want to connect with other real estate agents. Whether they’re lenders, title companies, insurance agents, or anyone else in your area, you can connect to forward-thinking professionals working in the real estate sphere around the world.

Being a real estate agent means a lot of engaging with clients and pros so your business can truly do well. With an app like Clubhouse, your opportunities to engage are pretty much boundless.

3. You Can Learn

As already mentioned, Clubhouse is a hotspot for rich and famous people. However, while this can be fun in itself because you get to meet some of these people, it is also a great opportunity to learn. You need to engage with other successful people on a regular basis so you can see how they have made it work and how you can too. You can use Clubhouse as an opportunity to ask questions and hear discussions on topics you’ve been trying to learn about for years, whether that be finances, real estate, marketing, mindful business models, or anything else you can think of!

Think of it this way–you get to learn from leaders in the industry that are operating at a level you want to be at. You build proximity to such high achievers and, in doing so, you level up!

4. You Can Build Authority

When you collaborate with other professionals and share your opinions, you become something of an authority. The more exposure you get, the more people will consider you an expert in what you’re doing.

Of course, this doesn’t work if you’re offering useless comments on whatever topic is at hand. Make sure that what you share is knowledgeable and helpful for others. Focus on building an authority based on things you know are true about yourself and your business. Use the Clubhouse platform to help others, and your authority will be established naturally.

Should You Join Clubhouse?

Because Clubhouse is invite only, it might come off as a little snobby at first. But don’t worry. There are ways to get in. You can download the app without an invite and Clubhouse will scan your contacts for any existing members who can let you in. Or, you can join the waiting list, and once Clubhouse is up and running they might just let you in automatically.

Considering how easy it is to get in, you should certainly consider joining it. It’s the perfect place to engage with new people, attract followers and referrals, learn new things, and become an influencer in your own right. And when you’ve gained all that, it’s still a fun place to learn more about topics that aren’t even related to the real estate business.

Clubhouse is an amazing opportunity for any agent looking to expand their business knowledge, professional connection, and personal relationships. If you do join, you’ll get to expand your business alongside like-minded people who love real estate as much as you do. If that sounds great to you, go ahead and give Clubhouse a shot.
