One of the most common questions I get after having spoken to more than 1,500 agents one on one about eXp Realty is this: Will eXp Realty last? So many of us have seen brokerages and companies come and go and it’s easy to think that such a new brokerage (it’s only 14 years in, after all) won’t make it with all the competition out there.
Well, there’s no easy answer. No one can tell the future, so it’s impossible to say for sure that eXp will last. But I believe eXp Realty will last, and here’s why.
The Reason eXp Realty Will (Probably) Last
Here’s what we know so far. eXp Realty was born out of the recession in 2009. Real estate was at an all-time low, but eXp managed to rise up from the ashes and start gathering some traction.
In just over 13 years (as of this writing), eXp Realty has risen through the ranks to become one of the top 5 real estate brokerages in both units and volume sold in the entire United States! Yes…that’s the fastest rise EVER by a real estate brokerage.
That means that eXp agents are selling more than most brokerages out there that have existed for 25+ years. And as an added bonus, eXp Realty pays WAY less in overhead costs because of its cloud-based platforms. So, it’s not as expense heavy as the other brokerages and therefore nets way more income!
In addition, eXp is owned by real estate agents. As part of the publicly traded eXp World Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPI), eXp is bought and sold in stock by eXp agents around the nation. These real estate agents are invested (literally) in the success of the brokerage!
So agents that not only have stock ownership in the brokerage and are drawing passive income through revenue share are less likely to “brokerage shop”. That means eXp has a much higher chance of attracting and retaining top agents. As of today, eXp employs more than 89,000 agents in 24 countries worldwide.
So, will eXp Realty last? No one knows for sure. However, this brokerage is in a much better position to make it than most other brokerages around the world today.
