Your Mind Is The Key To Your Success

This week we focused on our mindset with the very best on the topic, Les Brown. At the Agent First Mindset, we dove deep into understanding what a winning mindset is and how to spread it to our family, our clients, and others throughout our life. Les shares with us that your mind is the key to your success in any area of life.

Les Brown

At our weekly Agent First Mindset meetings, we work on developing ourselves personally and professionally and sharpening our skills to become more well-rounded people and real estate agents.

Les’s topic on mindset is essential for us as agents looking to build a strong business while still balancing our personal lives. With a little help from Les, we can start working on creating the life we want in both business and personal relationships.

Act In Pursuit of Success

If you ask just about anyone, they’ll tell you they want to be successful. But do their actions back it up? Les reminds us that hopes show up in conversation, but expectation shows up in behavior. We may have all kinds of hopes that we tell people, but do we act as if we expect to accomplish them?

In the real estate business, you probably have tons of hopes filling your dreams. Your business is probably built on all kinds of things you wish you could do and see. But are you living as if you expect these things to happen? Do you run your business with these goals in mind, or do you run it as if you are just “getting by”?

Each day, make sure that you live in pursuit of your hopes. Behave as if you’re working towards them. Do everything you can to fulfill your hopes and dreams as soon as possible.

Money Makes a Difference

Most of us don’t like to say we’re in real estate for the money. But the truth is, money does make a difference. We need money to live. We need it to support our habits and our families and we need it to build a future for ourselves.

There are three things money does which should make it matter to you:

  1. Gives you control
  2. Gives you options
  3. Allows you to contribute

You can have control over your life if you have enough money. You can choose how to live, what things to do and not do in your work and personal life, if you have enough money. And you can contribute to causes you care about if you have enough money to live on and some to spare.

Don’t hesitate to pursue the wealth that you need. Build goals into your real estate business so you know how many transactions you need to complete to earn the money necessary for your life. Take into account your hobbies, your needs, and your desires to help others when you calculate the income you want to make.

Take Risks To Get Where You Want To Be

Taking risks is always frightening. But here’s the truth: “You must be willing to do the things today that others won’t do, in order to have the things tomorrow others won’t have.” There are hundreds of thousands of real estate agents out there. But most of them are following the same patterns. If you want to do more, you have to start breaking the patterns and doing things differently.

What things won’t others do that you need to do right now? Well, here are a couple of options to help you get started:

  1. Make discipline a major force in your life. Most people hate disciplining themselves, but there’s no better way to get the job done. Discipline yourself to make those calls, close those deals, learn those skills, and do whatever you need to find success in your business.
  2. Make it okay to fail. “Anything worth doing is worth doing badly.” You won’t start out doing everything perfectly, or even well. But if you are willing to start badly, you’ll make it there. Remember, “You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great.”
Take Risks To Get Where You Want To Be

As you pursue your career and seek out the dreams you have built, make sure you are living your fullest life possible. Choose to be an uncommon agent. Don’t just be someone who survives within the parameters of making calls and going door to door. Be a bigger person, someone who steps out of their comfort zone and makes a difference in people’s lives while you’re working with them. It’s only there that you’ll see true success.

While you may not realize it, you do have skills that we need in this world. You have things that no one else does, but you have to build them. Start by working on the below:

  1. Knowledge from your unique experiences that no one else can imitate.
  2. Talent, the thing you love to do.
  3. Skill in your talent.
  4. Faith to act on your dreams.
THINGS YOU MUST BUILD TO PURSUE YOUR DREAMS

Build up the knowledge you need to succeed in your business and personal dreams. Build your real estate skills and have faith that it is possible to live as a truly successful agent for the rest of your life. You can build on communication, tech skills, financial management, and much more to become the best agent you can be. But if you never work on developing them, you’ll never get anywhere.

Don’t forget to keep going even when it seems impossible. Many people give up on their dreams because they find them more challenging than they had expected. But if you want to succeed, you can’t live that way. You have to do what no one else will do: keep your commitment to your commitment.

If you commit to pursuing your dreams, you will succeed at them. It will be a long and challenging journey, but if you commit to doing it well, you will make it. Just don’t forget that your mind is the key to your success. So, go out there, develop your mindset, and start living the life you’re dreaming of!
